4 Random Thoughts, 1 Tool, and 1 Quote
With everyone settled in, hopefully in 2021, we at We The Sales Engineers have some pretty great shows in the pipeline for all of you to take in, at least in our opinion. The latest one being with Mike Orth who’s been a Sales Engineer for a while and was dropping gems left and right on the podcast.
In the meantime, however, here’s your weekly 4/1/1 dose on a random topic I picked after spending the weekend learning about random subjects as we stay home on lockdown.
4 Random Thoughts From Me:
1- It’s never too late to learn new things. No matter how old you are, it’s truly never too late to learn new things. I’ll admit, I definitely feel my bones creak as I see all of the kids with their Instagrams and Tik Toks – but I also have no interest in learning about those platforms. If there’s something that genuinely interests you, start learning it, you definitely can!
2- Other than lack of time, there’s just about no excuse not to learn something you’re interested in. There are so many (free) resources to learn about things it’s not even funny. From sites dedicated to learning like khanacademy.org to a YouTube channel that focuses on your interest, go out there and seek what you want to know and learn it.
3- A multi-time national championship-winning baseball coach I knew would always say, practice doesn’t make perfect, perfect practice makes perfect. And it’s true! If you don’t do something right in your practice, then you’re not building the habits that otherwise would contribute to your learning. If you’re going to do it, do it right.
4- The best way to learn anything is to teach it. This not only will reinforce to you what you know but will open up your mind to the gaps that you may not have been aware of. Also, sharing your knowledge with others is always a good thing too.

Recently made the news after being given a $5 million donation by Elon Musk, but Khan Academy is an incredible resource for anyone going through school, have kids going through school, or anyone who wants to learn about any number of topics that one may have interest in. All provided by free, this resource can’t be shared with people enough for all of the good that it does.
