4 Random Thoughts, 1 Tool, and 1 Quote
As you likely noticed, this week’s podcast was a bit different, where instead of a guest coming on to be interviewed, a guest, Akshat Srivastava of SENY, came to interview Ramzi! Check it out here
With this community being Ramzi’s brainchild, I figured I’d tap into his brain a little bit and share 4 random thoughts in the form of tips and knowledge gained through his countless experiences in the SE world.
4 Random Thoughts From Me:
1- Be brave enough to challenge the status quo. However, have a purpose behind it. Challenging for the sake of challenging does not lead to anything but frustration. It’s far more productive to be constructive when challenging; with a positive intent to either understand better or improve something, the challenge is usually appreciated.
2- Take the time to develop your relationship with your teammates. At some point in time, they will save your behind.
3- Salespeople and sales engineers should be able to work together, but more importantly should be able to work apart. SEs should be able to lead calls the same way salespeople do, do discovery calls similar to how salespeople do, and the same for salespeople. If we can do that, we can divide and conquer and close even more deals.
4- Take the initiative. Kind of related to the above, but WTSE was created entirely by Ramzi’s desire to learn more about Sales Engineering and share his insights with the world. An innocent goal with a bit of initiative has since blossomed to Ramzi becoming one of the world’s leading experts on Sales Engineering. Anything is possible with a bit of initiative.

Audacity: If you ever have to do any sort of audio mixing, splicing, or editing of any kind, Audacity is a great free tool with a lot of functionality. It’s a great starting tool if you’ve ever wanted to make tracks or even start your own podcast!
