4 Random Thoughts, 1 Tool, and 1 Quote (April 15, 2020)
Welcome to the halfway point!
I hope you’re staying sane and safe as we are halfway through April.
Here are 4 random thoughts, 1 tool and 1 quote to demark the halfway point.
4 Random Thoughts From Me:
1- We usually have meetings dubbed as discovery meetings of needs analysis. However, the discovery process can be used everywhere. In the middle of a demo? Check! While having lunch with the customer? Check! While my wife is angry at me and I don’t know why? I don’t know about that!
2- Every resume has to be tailed for a job, however, it should still show how you are unique as a human being. What makes you different from the 10s or more of people who applied to the job by copying the job description.
3- There has to be a balance in candidness with your account manager, and a level of trust. However, there are some thoughts that are better left not shared as they will not add value to the relationship, organization or opportunity.
4- Sometimes you don’t know what your calling is until you start doing the job.
1 Tool:
Pluralsight is offering a free April. They have courses for different topics from programming, to cloud services.
1 Quote:
“The best way to sell yourself to others is first to sell the others to yourself.”
