4 Random Thoughts, 1 Tool, and 1 Quote

This week we broke past 150 episodes, and what better way to lead in the next 150 than by having on good friend of the show, the Demo Doctor himself, and CEO of TechSalesAdvisors, Chris White, to share more about being the most effective pre-sales professional you can be.

Listen to our show with Chris here.

As always when we have Chris on, we covered a wide range of topics.  This always makes the 4/1/1 pretty easy though, as there’s always something to think about when the Doctor is in.

4 Random Thoughts From Me:

1- Thinking from the inside out. Being able to reverse engineer anything is a great way to really dig into why something is working, or why it isn’t.  We talked a lot about the “middle of the funnel” and what can be done to optimize our actions through it.  This got me thinking about how it’s cool to be able to analyze a relatively narrow aspect of the entire sales process and see what little adjustments can have big impacts.

2- The Devil is in the details.  This saying can be true in general but related to the first point, sometimes it just takes some small adjustments to fine details to drive a significant impact.

3- The importance of good teamwork cannot be overstated.  It’s one of the habits to being an effective SE, and in general will make your life easier in so many ways.

4- Speaking of things that can’t be overstated, how about the importance being helpful?  Maybe this is slightly related to teamwork, but being able to just be helpful to those around you, and your customers, or any stakeholder you interact with, will benefit not only those around you but you in the end as well.
