4 Random Thoughts, 1 Tool, and 1 Quote

Transitioning careers or industries is not easy. Going from experts in what we do, whatever that is, to newbies is not fun. The fun part is getting to learn new technologies, and who knows, maybe we’d fall in love with the industry like Kyle, our guest on the podcast did.

Check out my conversation with Kyle here.

Let’s dig into this a bit with the 4/1/1

4 Random Thoughts From Me:

1- It’s ok to interview even you’re happy at your current job. You get to know what’s out there, and then you have options. You can choose to stay, or chose to go!

2- When trying to shift industries, you might not have the technical knowledge required, so the plan would be o highlight your impact on your current organization and your ability to learn new technology

3- Certifications are useful as ties breakers in an interview process, or if you want to learn more about another industry.

4- It’s harder to learn human skills than it is to learn technical skills. However, if we bite more than we can chew, and try to learn too much at the same time, we are setting ourselves up for failure
