The past year and a bit have presented a number of challenges for many.  Whether those challenges be health-related, family-related, job-related, or anything else, there’s no doubt that this year has been tough.  From employees losing their jobs to others looking for a change, something that’s going to come out of this pandemic (and already has for a while), is a large number of interviews taking place.  This week’s show featured just Ramzi and I as we discuss 10 uncommon mistakes many people make during interviews, so hopefully, you find it helpful.

Interviews are such an interesting thing.  They’re dreaded by many, but also are so necessary, and while I personally hate the whole job application process, I do tend to see interviews themselves in a positive light, so I’ll share some thoughts I have on them in this week’s 4/1/1.

3- Always try to have a couple of questions ready to go as it shows genuine interest on your part for the role you’re interviewing for.  If your “canned” question gets answered through the normal course of the interview and you can’t come up with anything else by the end of it, I personally mention explicitly that, “you actually answered my question about XYZ because I was wondering this and you said that, so thank you for that.” This shows that you did come in with questions, and the interviewer will probably like you even just a marginal bit more as they’ll feel a bit more accomplished knowing that they inadvertently answered your question.
