4 Random Thoughts, 1 Tool, and 1 Quote

This week I talked to Meri Martinez and we talked about her journey into Biomedical Sales Engineering (aka Sales) and then out of it.

Check out the podcast here

And on YouTube, I talk about sacrificing to create better relationships with Account Managers (aka our customers)

Now here is the 4/1/1:

4 Random Thoughts From Me:

1- If you want to build relationships, make sure to keep adding credit to your account. Or as Gary V. says, Jab, Jab, Jab, Right Hook. AKA give, give, give so that when you need to ask, you can.

2- If you’re on a path and are not sure you’re on the right one, it’s time to detach as Jocko Willink would say, and reassess. You can then move paths or if you’re unsure, stay on this path and create opportunities to shift to another path like Meri did.

3- Some people are just a-holes. It could be managers, customers, colleagues, or friends. The question is do you have to keep in contact with them (managers – yes, friends – not so much) and then the question is what can you do to handle the situation while coming out on top? This could be a whole 2-hour discussion with someone, so if you do want to have that discussion with me, hit reply and let me know.

4- I get many people telling me they want to break into sales engineering or switch jobs and they want to do it in 1 month. I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but in most cases, the interview process on its own takes 3 months

1 Tool:
