This week’s guest is from halfway across the our world.  Steffen Müller is a full-time PreSales Professional and runs his own PreSales Consulting firm called Pathfinder Consulting. During our interview, Steffen shared some great insights to help you run your presales organization as effectively as possible.

There was so much that Steffen shared that is critical for organizations who want to run valued and effective pre-sales teams.  This week’s 4/1/1 takes from some of the topics talked about.

 

4 Random Thoughts From Me:

 
1- Importance of planning in order to scale up.  Scaling up anything is always a good objective to have (for the most part) but building fast with no foundation is a recipe for disaster, so plan well and grow your organization with a strong foundation.
 
2- Fresh perspectives help. We’ve all heard of the dangers of groupthink or even just the idea of getting stuck in our ways.  Getting fresh perspectives, or an outside perspective is always a good way to keep your processes and ways of doing things currently.
 
3- Running any size team like an organization with a vision.  Running a small team with goals, values, processes, mandates, etc. not only gives your team structure, purpose, and a common goal to work towards.
 
4- The idea that success (and failure) leaves clues.  Nothing is ever black and white, but just like there are a million books by successful people, it’s important to see the common threads among those that make it to really get a sense of what you need to do to get there.

ColorZilla

This is a chrome extension, but other browsers have their equivalent.  If you ever have to do any sort of design work, however minimal, this is a great tool to match the exact color of anything in your browser window for future reference, or coloring elements of a site, app, or anything!
