4 Random Thoughts, 1 Tool, and 1 Quote

Can you believe September is just around the corner? Hopefully, everyone is staying cool and safe in their respective locations.  Lots going on everywhere, from the Paralympics to the Little League World Series to the Women’s World Hockey Championship and more!  There was also a lot going on this week on the podcast, with Samuel Joseph West, an experienced sales engineer specializing in cybersecurity, to come on to share insight into his journey to getting to where he is today.

Listen to our show with Samuel here.

Such insightful shows, particularly those that are so relatable, can really get the thoughts going.

Before we jump in, Ramzi just posted a new video on Youtube, a guide if you will on how you get customers to hate you, or if you don’t want that, things you should avoid doing.

And with that, let’s dive in:

4 Random Thoughts From Me:

1- Everyone starts somewhere.  Do you know that saying about how it’s not about the destination, but rather about the journey along the way?  Well, a lot of the same can be said for getting good at any career, as our experiences and willingness to persevere as things get tough are the things that eventually make us great down the line.

2- Share what you know to know it better.  They say one of the best ways to study something is to teach it, well, that’s pretty much it, if you want to really reinforce something, teach it, engage in discussion, and you’ll be better off from it.

3- The importance of being self-aware.  It’s important to be aware of what areas you know you need to work on, but more importantly, how to work on those things.  If you are aware that it takes practice and repetition to get better at something, then practice (perfectly) and get better.

4- Be open to feedback.  Being open to the feedback of others is critical to us becoming our best selves.  Having a 360-degree view of yourself in the eyes of those you interact with, either directly or indirectly, is a great way to be your best.
