Has anyone remembered to wake up Green Day today? As we say goodbye to September and welcome in Spooktober, the weather is getting crisper and the prospect of buying cheap chocolate draws nearer. Not unlike the times, the We The Sales Engineers podcast is doing the very same, with some crisp shows packed with all sorts of sweet, sweet value. This week, we had on Buu Lam, a Solutions Engineer with backgrounds in the security industry and others, to speak to his success in “social selling”, as Buu has developed a unique relationship with his customers and with respect to how he provides value to them.

There was so much great stuff talked about on the show, and so without any further ado, let’s dive in to the 4/1/1!

4 Random Thoughts From Me:

1- The power of the network effect. There’s a reason social media has proliferated our society to the extent that it has, and there’s a reason why social selling works. The network effect is pretty powerful and virality isn’t too far out of reach.

2- Always enjoy what you’re setting out to do. If you’re not having fun one way or another, you’re probably in the wrong place.

3- The power of compound interest. Buu talked a little bit about the importance of having good finances in order. If you start to invest early, you’ll reap the benefits down the line.

4- When talking about Buu and Ramzi’s setups, it’s hard not to consider how crazy the acceleration of technology has been to have this all in our homes. Moore’s law is a bit of a self-fulfilling prophecy and I’m not complaining.
