4 Random Thoughts, 1 Tool, and 1 Quote

I learned something new. I learned that I can just ask how someone is doing, or how their week/weekend was before starting a call, and that would help in building relationships. And I learned that through my conversation with Brian Lewis on this week’s podcast.

Check it out here

I also shared some of my experience about how long it would take someone to get a new job (any job). And the answer is, as usual, it depends.

Let’s dig into this a bit with the 4/1/1

4 Random Thoughts From Me:

1- You are the CEO of your own life, so plan your growth accordingly.

2- We underestimate the amount of effort required to achieve a goal.

3- Building relationships is as simple as asking how was your day while waiting for everyone to join the call.

4- I’ve never welcomed anyone onto a call. I’ve said hello, but never “welcome”. And after 9 years of being in Sales, I’m still learning.

1 Tool:

Stories. This is a wonderful tool to build relationships. Sometimes there is an awkward silence at the start of a meeting while waiting for everyone to join the call, or in person, while waiting for everyone to show up.

So come up with a few stories, things that have happened to you, and share those stories at the right time to give your audience permission to share their own and begin building these relationships.
