4 Random Thoughts, 1 Tool, and 1 Quote

Sales Engineering is a very diverse role and one of the hardest to explain to someone who’s not in technology. Those who are in technology assume that a Sales Engineer just demos. And until someone does what Sales Engineers do, they will never truly understand their various tasks and skills at hand.

This is why this week, I’ve decided to talk about a topic that is rarely discussed in Sales Engineering:  Account Planning.

You can listen to the podcast here

Let’s dig into this a bit with the 4/1/1

4 Random Thoughts From Me:

1- There is much more to sales engineering than just demos.

2- Advanced topics could include account planning, partnership building, social media usage, project managing, etc.

3- Basically, there is no end to what we can do as Sales Engineers.

4- The biggest hurdle, however, is partnering with salespeople. They can make our lives easy, or miserable.

1 Tool:

A listener of the podcast purchased 3 books: Mastering Technical Sales, The 6 Habits of Highly Effective Sales Engineers, and The Trusted advisor. He has chosen to take a career break, so he’s offering the books to those who want them.

If you are interested in one of the books, let me know and I will figure out a way to get them to you.
